International Clients
Your Legal Partner in Israel
Most of our clients are not in Israel. Their matter is. We act as the Israeli side of the file: we prepare what Israeli institutions require, appear before them, and report back in English.
Who we act for
Some of our clients are companies putting an Israeli operation together. Some are individuals with a single Israeli transaction to complete. Some are professionals whose own client has an Israeli problem.
- Foreign companies
- International business owners
- Entrepreneurs and executives
- Investors
- High-net-worth individuals
- Family offices
- Foreign law firms
- Accountants and tax advisers
- International professional service providers
For foreign law firms, accountants and other advisers we act as Israeli correspondent counsel. We take the Israeli part of the matter and report back to you. The client relationship stays yours.
What we handle
These are the matters international clients bring to the firm. Each one names the practice that carries it, so you can read further before you write.
Entering and operating in the Israeli market
Choosing the form the business will take in Israel, registering it, putting governance in place, and dealing with the filings and approvals the activity attracts. Covered in full under Doing Business in Israel.
Establishing a legal and banking presence in Israel
A company on the register is half of a presence; the other half is a bank that will hold its money. Account opening runs alongside incorporation, and the documents the bank will ask for are prepared at the same time as the constitutional ones. See Corporate & Commercial and Banking, Payments & Financial Compliance.
Managing Israeli legal and regulatory requirements
Licences and permits, the requirements that attach to a particular activity, administrative proceedings, and challenges to decisions already taken. See Regulation & Government Authorities.
Cross-border transactions and payments
Transfers into and out of Israel, the anti-money-laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) work that has to be done before one is sent, and what to do when a transfer is delayed, refused or frozen. We prepare the legal and commercial framework the bank requires and represent the client through the review. We do not promise that an account will be opened or that a transfer will be approved. See Banking, Payments & Financial Compliance.
Commercial agreements
Supply, service, distribution and agency arrangements, joint ventures, and shareholder and founder agreements — drafted to work under Israeli law and to be intelligible to a counterparty who has never dealt with it. See Corporate & Commercial.
Litigation and enforcement in Israel
Commercial claims, contract and shareholder disputes, debt recovery and enforcement proceedings, and urgent applications. We appear for foreign parties before the Israeli courts and tribunals, and act in the enforcement of foreign judgments. See Dispute Resolution & Litigation.
Employment and relocation of foreign personnel
Israeli employment contracts and compliance for an international employer, work permits for foreign experts, and the relocation of executives and their families. See Employment & Corporate Immigration and Private Clients & Global Mobility.
Real estate and investment matters
Purchase and sale of Israeli property by foreign buyers and investors, due diligence, registration of rights, and the payment and financing coordination a purchase from abroad requires. See Real Estate & Investments.
Coordination with Israeli professional advisers
Accountants, tax advisers, banks and other professionals whose part of the matter has to fit with ours. Where a client has no one in Israel, we can point them to professionals who are used to international clients; where the client has advisers already, we work to them. See all practice areas.
English-language reporting and remote communication
Files run by email and video call. Correspondence, documents and reporting are in English — Hebrew and Russian are also working languages of the firm — and the appearances in Israel are made by us.
