Much of a dispute is decided by what was done before the claim was filed. We take the file at whatever stage it reaches us — in negotiation where that ends it, and in court where it does not.
A foreign company in an Israeli dispute is at two disadvantages at once: the proceedings run in Hebrew, and the other side is at home. We remove the first and narrow the second by running the matter from Israel and reporting on it in English, in the detail our client needs in order to decide anything.
Before a claim is filed we set out what it is worth, what it will take, and what a realistic settlement looks like. A great many commercial disputes end better in a negotiated agreement than in a judgment, and that assessment is worth making deliberately rather than after the cost has been incurred.
Where the matter does go to court, we appear for our clients before Israeli courts and tribunals, including on urgent applications where something has to be secured before it disappears. We do not predict outcomes.
Business claims between companies, brought or defended before the Israeli courts.
Disagreements about what was agreed, whether it was performed, and what follows from a breach.
Conflicts between the owners of a company or the partners in a business, including deadlock and the conduct of the majority.
Pursuing money owed to our client, from the first demand through to judgment.
Turning a judgment or an undisputed debt into an actual recovery.
What to do before a claim is filed: what to secure, what to send, and whether to file at all.
Settlement talks conducted as part of preparing the case, not as an alternative to preparing it.
Appearing for our clients at each instance, and before the specialised tribunals that hear particular kinds of matter.
Acting in Israel for a party based abroad, including where service, evidence or witnesses have to cross a border.
Challenging the decisions of Israeli public bodies through the administrative courts.
Injunctions, attachments and other orders sought quickly, to hold a position while the case is decided.
Tell us what you are dealing with and where it stands. We will tell you what it involves in Israel and who at the firm will handle it.
